The stories use more natural, varied English, with useful vocabulary, expressions and grammar that you can meet in context rather than study from a list.

How to read the stories
You don’t need to understand every word. Seriously. That’s not how reading works.
- 📖 Read the story, not the dictionary. Keep going and focus on what is happening.
- 💡 Use the context. The sentence around a new word can often give you a pretty good idea of what it means.
- 🔎 Guess first. You might be right. You might be spectacularly wrong. Either way, keep reading.
- 🧠 Notice the English. Pay attention to useful expressions, vocabulary and grammar that you might actually use.
- 🎯 Don’t panic over the gaps. Understanding most of the story is much more useful than understanding every single word.
